Any district employee is welcome to nominate a volunteer using the online form.
In the nomination form, share why the volunteer should be recognized as the Volunteer of the Month. You will be prompted to provide another reference in the event that the nominee is a finalist.
Prior to the Volunteer of the Month announcement, the nominator will be contacted by the volunteer coordinator to plan a visit to the nominee at the site of their service. If the nominator is not the nominee’s principal or site coordinator, those individuals will be contacted along with the nominator.
Representatives of the foundation office and school district will recognize the Volunteer of the Month winner at the site of their service, delivering a certificate, gift card, and balloon bouquet.
Additional Information
Nominations open on Monday, August 17th at 7:00am.
To be considered, volunteers must consistently serve a minimum of six hours per month in a school or Community Learning Center. This is verified by the volunteer coordinator using the Kiosk system. For September, we will look at service hours from the 25-26 school year.
After verification, nominees will be evaluated based on the impact and qualities identified in the nomination.
In the week leading up to the Volunteer of the Month announcement, references for two finalists will be contacted to provide their endorsement.
Once the winner is selected, the nominator and site supervisor (principal or other district employee) will be contacted to coordinate a visit to the volunteer during their service hours.
The intent is to recognize volunteers who serve at different sites. Schools and community learning centers will not be repeated through the 26-27 school year.
Volunteer of the Month will be announced on the following dates:
