High School Community Education Classes

As the district works to be a responsible steward of its limited financial resources, we evaluated the Community Education program offered at East, Highland, and West High Schools, where adults take classes to learn new skills or interests. It was determined that the program was using resources that could be directed towards the classroom. 

Since this program is outside the mission of the district, which is PreK through 12th grade, the decision was made to discontinue the High School Community Education classes at the end of this school year.  

We want to emphasize that this decision does not affect the Community Education After-School program for students, which will continue to serve families across our schools. 

We know this program has been meaningful to many in the community, and we appreciate your understanding as we prioritize our primary educational mission.
