This school year, Salt Lake City School District is using Edia, our new attendance notification system, to keep you informed and connected.

How It Works

1. Absent

Your student is marked absent from school.

2. Get a Text

You will receive a text from Edia AI.

Just Reply

Tell us why your student missed school. We genuinely want to know.

School Support

Your reply goes directly to your school's office staff, who can connect your family with any needed resources or support.

Whether your child stayed home due to illness, a hard day, anxiety, or something happening at school, your response helps us show up for them.

Your Student's Privacy Is Our Priority

We have a formal agreement with Edia to protect your child's information.

Edia is a School Official

The district has classified Edia as a school official under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) because Edia performs services on behalf of the district.

We Follow All Legal Requirements

The district's agreement with Edia must meet applicable state and federal student privacy requirements, including FERPA.

Your Data Stays Private

Even though Edia uses AI to communicate with families, your information stays private. Edia does not share this information with other companies.
